Mission Statement

Parent Voices. Community Strength. Systemic Change.

Strengthening Parent Advocacy Across Hawaiʻi

PAU exists to support parent advocacy in all its forms, grounded in lived parent experience and committed to encouraging actionable, meaningful parent participation across health and education systems.

We promote transparency and accessibility within institutions and work to forge tangible partnerships between parents, schools, agencies, and support organizations, so families can engage as respected and informed collaborators.

Through shared experience and collaborative insight, we work to identify and address systemic gaps and recurring insufficiencies that repeatedly impact families navigating disability, health, and educational services.

Our mission is to strengthen networks of trust, care, and support for children with disabilities, both visible and invisible, and their parents and caregivers.

PAU is parent-led and grounded in lived experience. We do not provide legal, clinical, or professional services.
